Our History

It all started from my brother Rob asking me to reproduce a model that he sculptured back in 1992. My brother was a top class sculptor who had been commissioned by highly successful international companies as well as the royal family for two horses in porcelain, Mulgrave supreme and Rio, a royal Windsor grey. He asked me to reproduce a model of a dog ( a Tibetan terrier ) he’d sculptured. He wanted this in cold cast bronze. After over a year of experimenting and obtaining info from different sources I finally had a first class finish for the bronzes.

One thing soon led to another and as I became known for my particular skills I found myself producing for a number of customers that supplied the military. This felt like a very natural progression as most of my family were from a military background including myself.

It was one of these customers that started me on the road to selling military personal goods on my eBay store “Lapel Badge Shop”. It has always been my intention however to offer the most pleasing web experience, so after much deliberation and planning I opened this website to allow my products to truly shine. British Military Store has now grown to include custom engraved lighters, tobacco tins, hip flasks, medals & ribbons, tie clips, cufflinks and badges – and is growing all the time.

All of my items are of extremely high quality. Most are able to be personalised with military insignia and a personal message of your choice. I hope you like what you see. Of course if you spot something that is wrong or could be improved, please let me know. (I have been known to get things wrong Honest!…not often though)
